K-12 Special Education Virtual Teacher Specialist

Soliant is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our innovative virtual learning program serving K-12 students in the Portland area.
About the RoleThis remote position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working from home. As a Special Education Teacher, you will develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs, collaborate with families and other educators, and utilize educational technology to create engaging virtual learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver specialized instruction through virtual platforms to meet the unique needs of students.
- Develop and maintain IEPs for assigned students, ensuring a tailored approach to their education.
- Monitor and document student progress, identifying areas for improvement and celebration of successes.
- Collaborate with general education teachers on accommodations and modifications to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
- Conduct virtual meetings with parents and staff to foster open communication and partnership.
- Maintain accurate special education records and documentation, adhering to relevant laws and regulations.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry trends.
- Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid Maine teaching certification with Special Education endorsement.
- Minimum 2 years of classroom teaching experience in special education, with a proven track record of success.
- Proficiency with educational technology and virtual learning platforms, including [insert specific tools].
