Your primary responsibility will be to enhance sales and distribution of all Beverage South (GA/SC) offerings within your designated territory and customer network. This includes executing planning, selling, marketing, merchandising, distribution, and reporting tasks to achieve performance benchmarks.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sales Account Executive will report directly to the Area Sales Manager. This position focuses on increasing sales and market presence by identifying opportunities, cultivating strong customer relationships, demonstrating exceptional selling abilities, and delivering outstanding service. Additionally, it involves ensuring product integrity through effective rotation and inventory management.

Regular evaluations of route efficiency are required, along with sharing pertinent competitive insights with management and proactively engaging in sales, marketing, and packaging initiatives.

Success in this role is measured by meeting sales, distribution, quality, and display objectives established by management. Key performance indicators include territory and time management, planning capabilities, selling proficiency, personal presentation, administrative tasks, customer service, product rotation, quality assurance, and compliance with shelf management and point-of-sale standards.

KEY INTERACTIONS

  • Daily collaboration with Delivery-Merchandisers to address specific delivery logistics or customer service issues.
  • Regular discussions with the District Manager to assess current performance against targets and share relevant competitive or customer insights.
  • As necessary, coordinate with Merchandisers to clarify merchandising guidelines or customer needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

This position requires a minimum of 2 years of sales experience or 2 years in the consumer goods industry. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver's license, and maintain a clean driving record. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, and possesses proven sales and administrative skills. A goal-oriented individual who can effectively prioritize multiple objectives and strategies, with strong time management, strategic planning, clear communication, and interpersonal skills. Flexibility in scheduling and the physical capability to regularly lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds of products is essential.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Enhance retail sales for assigned accounts by implementing and executing established sales, distribution, marketing, supplier, and quality assurance program goals.
  2. Develop a comprehensive monthly plan to set goals and efficiently manage territory resources, talent, and time.
  3. Conduct a thorough end-of-month evaluation of actual performance against established objectives.
  4. Apply strategic pricing standards, including competitive pricing, utilization of labels, shelf displays, point-of-sale materials, and window pricing where applicable.
  5. Responsible for creating retail displays and marketing materials that meet or exceed merchandising and retail standards.
  • Ensure display placement in prime or high-traffic areas.
  • Verify that all products on display meet standards and are available for purchase.
  • Maintain reasonable quantities of products on display.
  • Utilize current or themed point-of-sale materials.
  • Ensure accurate pricing and visible price signage.
  • Rotate displays appropriately to maintain product freshness.
  • Timely delivery of displays to maximize promotional advertising periods.
  • Installation of permanent and paper point-of-sale materials.
  • Ensure all point-of-sale materials are current and relevant.
  1. Increase consumer awareness and drive purchase intent for brands through proactive distribution and shelf management practices.
  2. Maintain quality standards for all Beverage South products to ensure only fresh and undamaged items are available for sale and consumption. Coordinate with delivery personnel for exchanging close-coded products and adhere to first-in/first-out rotation.
  3. Facilitate effective internal communication by providing relevant information to colleagues (drivers, sales manager, and merchandisers) involved with or impacted by the situation.
  4. Develop, mentor, and supervise drivers servicing customer accounts to enhance skills, knowledge, and teamwork, resulting in superior service and retail performance.
  5. Leverage data, marketing insights, handheld devices, and planning tools to forecast accurately, pre-sell effectively, and maintain optimal inventory levels, minimizing overstock, out-of-stock, and expired product scenarios.
  6. Comply with all state, local, and federal regulations related to the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages. Execute all responsibilities in accordance with Beverage South (GA/SC) Policies and Procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
