POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Logistics Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the Delivery Department, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of Beverage South's products to various retail locations. This role includes direct supervision of delivery team leaders and collaboration with sales and merchandising staff to enhance customer satisfaction and execution at retail points.

Key Responsibilities

The Logistics Operations Manager reports to the General Sales Manager and is responsible for optimizing customer service through effective management of delivery processes. This position ensures that quality standards are upheld by all delivery personnel, including proper product rotation during market deliveries and adherence to delivery protocols. Additionally, the manager will oversee the maintenance and compliance of the delivery vehicle fleet, ensuring all operational standards are met.

Qualifications and Skills

This role requires 7-10 years of managerial experience, preferably in delivery operations or a related field. A Class-A commercial driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to foster positive employee relations. Physical capability for frequent lifting and movement is essential, and candidates must reside within the operational delivery area.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Direct and manage daily operations of the Delivery Department.
  • Ensure the delivery fleet is maintained in optimal working condition at all times, including reviewing driver logs and addressing vehicle issues promptly.
  • Utilize tracking systems to monitor driver performance and compliance, providing coaching as necessary.
  • Collaborate with routing teams to optimize delivery schedules and address overflow routes.
  • Analyze scheduled routes to ensure timely completion without compromising product rotation or service quality.
  • Guide Delivery Supervisors in implementing Beverage South's delivery protocols and maintaining accountability.
  • Ensure all delivery personnel present a professional image and adhere to company uniform standards.
  • Oversee the execution of delivery tasks, ensuring compliance with Beverage South's operational standards.
  • Facilitate training for new drivers and ensure all personnel are knowledgeable about safety protocols and equipment operation.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and vehicle inspections to promote a culture of safety.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities, including performance evaluations and documentation of employee status changes.
