Position Overview

The Senior Cash Register Supervisor plays a crucial role in enhancing the customer's shopping journey by effectively mentoring and overseeing fellow cashiers while providing constructive feedback to management regarding their performance. This position assists store leadership in managing cash wrap operations to ensure optimal accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company protocols. The Senior Cash Register Supervisor is expected to exemplify Under Armour's Core Competencies and I WILL behaviors in all actions and interactions to foster a positive experience for both teammates and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

- Clearly communicate priorities and productivity targets to cashiers, holding both the team and oneself accountable for achieving these goals.

- Ensure that cashiers consistently adhere to all policies and procedures, including established safety protocols; promptly report any policy violations to management.

- Actively seek opportunities for personal growth and development to enhance leadership skills and individual performance.

Talent Development

- Take the lead in training and coaching cashiers on Under Armour's Core Competencies and I WILL behaviors, as well as the technical skills necessary to positively influence sales and meet established objectives.

- Provide management with updates on cashier productivity; proactively identify and communicate performance issues.

- Foster cashier engagement by supporting management in recognizing and rewarding exceptional performance.

Operational Excellence

- Collaborate with store leadership to assist in opening and closing procedures in accordance with company policies and guidelines.

- Coordinate scheduled breaks for cashiers to maximize productivity while complying with company and legal requirements.

- Execute register transactions swiftly and accurately, following established cash control procedures and customer service standards.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked cash wrap area.

- Address customer concerns in alignment with company policy, prioritizing customer satisfaction.

- Provide insights on improvement opportunities and challenges related to cash wrap organization.

- Stay informed of and comply with all Loss Prevention policies, reporting any unusual activities to store leadership.

Merchandising Standards

- Ensure that returned merchandise is restocked in the correct locations on the sales floor; properly label and place damaged or defective items in designated areas at the end of each shift.

- Support store and corporate strategies aimed at reducing shrink; monitor for signs of shrinkage and report any unusual activities to management.

- Uphold Under Armour's brand standards by maintaining a neat, clean, and organized cash wrap area, ensuring a safe environment for teammates and customers.

Authority and Responsibilities

- The Senior Cash Register Supervisor should be scheduled for peak volume shifts and can only perform supervisory functions when specifically assigned to a Lead Cashier shift.

- Provide direction and oversight of cash wrap operations.

- Authorize refunds processed by cashiers under their supervision during assigned shifts. If a Senior Cash Register Supervisor processes a return, a member of store leadership must authorize it; they cannot authorize their own transactions.

- Approve post voids in accordance with Under Armour policy.

- Register employee purchases following the Under Armour Discount Policy.

- Authorized to verify and sign the deposit slip once a member of store leadership has also verified and signed it.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

- Flexibility to work a schedule that meets business needs, including holidays, nights, and weekends.

- Proficiency in computer and technology use.

- Previous experience in a leadership role is preferred but not mandatory.

- Proven ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.

- Capability to move or handle merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs.

- Ability to access all areas of the store, including the sales floor, stockroom, and register area.

- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

- Openness to receiving feedback and taking appropriate action.

- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Education and Experience

- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

- Must be at least 18 years old.

- A minimum of six months of cash handling and customer service experience is required.
