Job Overview

Position Title: Service Advisor

Reporting To: Service Manager

Role Summary:

The Service Advisor plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and efficient service operations. This position involves direct interaction with customers, assessing their vehicle needs, and facilitating the repair process.

  1. Welcome customers warmly as they arrive in the service area.
  2. Identify repair needs through customer discussions regarding vehicle performance or by inspecting the vehicle visually.
  3. Provide repair cost estimates and prepare detailed work orders, outlining parts and labor costs.
  4. Respond to customer inquiries in person or via phone.
  5. Handle all incoming calls to your desk phone; if a call is missed, check voicemail and return calls promptly.
  6. Maintain daily communication with customers through text, phone calls, or in-person updates regarding their vehicles.
  7. Perform minor adjustments or repairs as necessary.
  8. Ensure that repair orders are processed and closed in a timely manner.
  9. Notify customers promptly upon completion of their vehicle service.
  10. Collaborate positively with all team members.
  11. Maintain customer satisfaction index (CSI) above established standards.
  12. Adhere to company standards for labor and parts profitability.
  13. Follow company policies regarding non-discrimination and harassment.
  14. Interact with the public courteously and professionally.
  15. Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Tools Required:

  1. Pencils
  2. Pens
  3. Erasers
  4. Hand Tools
  5. Measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, thickness gauges, pressure temperature gauges)
  6. Staplers

Vehicles Managed:

  1. Customer vehicles for engine start-up and brief test drives as needed.
  2. Movement of new or used vehicles for customers.
  3. Repositioning of vehicles on sales lots as required.
  4. Other driving tasks as assigned.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  1. Mandatory safety items provided by the employer:
  2. Leather-topped rubber-soled shoes.
  3. Utilization of required personal protective equipment at all times.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Standing: Intermittent, not exceeding 60% of the workday.
  2. Walking: Intermittent, not exceeding 20% of the workday.
  3. Sitting: Intermittent, not exceeding 10% of the workday.
  4. Stooping, kneeling, and crouching: Infrequent, not exceeding 10% of the workday.
  5. Lifting: Maximum of 20 lbs.
  6. Carrying: Maximum of 10 lbs.
  7. Pushing and pulling: Occasional activity using tools and equipment.
  8. Climbing and balancing.
  9. Crawling.
  10. Twisting or turning of the trunk.
  11. Reaching.
  12. Handling: Frequent activity with office and hand tools.

Environmental Conditions:

Exposure to various weather conditions, dust, fumes, mist, gases, odors, noise, and vibration from electrical tools and machinery.

Employee Responsibilities:

Employees are expected to maintain the dealership's property and ensure a clean and organized workspace. This includes proper disposal of waste and displaying vehicles and merchandise appropriately.

Benefits:

Eligible employees and their families receive medical, dental, vision, short/long-term disability, and basic life/AD&D insurance after 60 days of employment. The company covers 80% of basic medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees. Employees can enroll in the 401k plan after one year of service and accrue personal time off based on hours worked.

Compensation: $16/hour plus commission (monthly earnings range from $3,838.71 to $15,200.25).
