About the Role

MathWorks is seeking a highly skilled Senior Information Security and Risk Analyst to join our Information Security team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing information security and risk management practices, monitoring compliance, and enhancing our information security and risk programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Information Security Policies: Create, maintain, and implement information security policies, standards, guidelines, and practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of MathWorks' information assets.
  • Align People, Process, and Technology: Align people, process, and technology to relevant information security frameworks and standards, and help maintain and improve MathWorks' information security and risk management programs.
  • Manage Information Security Risk: Develop, implement, and maintain information security risk management functions, including identifying, assessing, and analyzing security risks, and developing risk treatment plans.
  • Implement and Manage Tooling and Processes: Implement and manage tooling and processes to manage, track, and report on control activities, ensuring compliance with relevant information security frameworks and standards.
  • Assist with External Customer Security Assessments: Assist with managing external customer security assessments and security inquiries, ensuring timely and effective responses to customer security concerns.
  • Enhance Due Diligence Processes: Enhance due diligence processes for third-party relationships and conduct cybersecurity assessments of third parties as needed, ensuring the security and integrity of MathWorks' information assets.
  • Collaborate with Information Security Staff: Collaborate with Information Security staff, risk analysts, and IT staff on various risk and security projects, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
Requirements
  • Advanced Knowledge of Information Security Standards: Advanced knowledge of information security standards and frameworks, including ISO, CMMC, NIST SP-800 Series, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and AICPA SOC.
  • High-Level Understanding of IT and Security Topics: High-level understanding of significant IT and security topics, including cloud computing, identity and access management, network security, and secure software development lifecycle.
  • Research and Authoring Experience: Researching, authoring, and maintaining information security policies, standards, guidelines, and controls, with demonstrated experience aligning company practices with information security frameworks.
  • Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, with specific experience around policy communication, and able to plan and execute project work with significant autonomy.
  • Strong Relationship Management Skills: Strong relationship management skills and ability to work across organizational boundaries in IT and software development, with prior experience communicating information security and risk concepts to technical and executive audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Security/Audit Certifications: Security/Audit certifications, such as CISSP, CISA, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, etc.
  • Security Role in a Software Development Company: Security role in a software development or technology company, with experience with Governance/Risk/Compliance platforms and tools, and experience with Public Cloud, such as AWS or Azure.
  • Information Security Risk Assessments: Experience in conducting information security risk assessments, with a strong understanding of risk management principles and practices.
