About BusekBusek is at the forefront of researching, developing, and manufacturing technologies for demanding space missions involving small spacecraft in low-earth orbit, large geostationary satellites, and CubeSats and probes destined for the moon and beyond. Our skilled team possesses extensive expertise across in-space propulsion, space-borne sensors, materials science, manufacturing, and high-fidelity electronic design. Notable achievements include the first US Hall Effect Thruster in space, the first Micro-PPT Thrusters, and the inaugural flight of Electrospray Thrusters. Our current endeavors encompass both high-volume and low-volume production of reliable in-space propulsion components and systems, alongside the development of innovative processes and technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the fulfillment of goals related to Requirement management, Interface management, Technical risk management, Configuration management, and Technical data management.
- Conduct system analysis and provide systems engineering oversight while collaborating with internal and external subject matter experts.
- Lead a thorough flight project requirements development and verification/validation program, establish technical interfaces, and propose solutions for addressing technical challenges and project risks along with their mitigation strategies.
- Engage with team leaders and client personnel on technical issues, often necessitating coordinated efforts across Busek products and technical disciplines.
- Perform comprehensive evaluations on product capability/performance, cost, and schedule.
- Interface with technical clients as necessary.
- Document and communicate progress through status reports and technical reviews.
- Gather and analyze data and client requests to evaluate system operations.
- Understanding of fundamental principles in Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering.
- Strong documentation skills and active participation in ongoing development efforts and design reviews.
- Ability to comprehend client technical requirements and relay information to a diverse group of technical team members.
- Experience in leading a comprehensive flight project requirements development and verification/validation program, establishing technical interfaces, and formulating recommendations for addressing technical issues and project risks along with associated mitigation plans.
- Experience in generating and maintaining systems engineering artifacts such as hardware or software design requirements, interface control documents, failure modes and effects analysis, fault tree analysis, and reliability analysis.
- Familiarity with the essential subsystems that make up a satellite electric propulsion system, including trade-offs between simplicity, reliability, and performance.
- Awareness of mechanical, thermal, dynamic, and other environmental factors affecting satellite operation and testing.
- Understanding of interdependencies between propulsion systems and other high-level satellite systems (e.g., power, attitude control, flight dynamics).
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
