Asset Protection Operations Coach Trainee

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asset Protection Operations Coach Trainee to join our team. As a key member of our Asset Protection team, you will be responsible for detecting, deterring, investigating, and resolving violations of company policies and criminal activities.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate alleged fraud and other alleged illegal activities, and conduct investigations relating to the operations and policies of the company.
- Obtain evidence, take statements, write case reports, and provide courtroom testimony as needed.
- Participate in collaborative efforts with other investigative entities to ensure effective and efficient resolution of incidents.
- Monitor safety and risk controls within a facility by ensuring an effective safety program is in place.
- Supervise the safety team, identify accident trends, and develop and implement solutions to prevent accidents.
- Observe work practices and provide training to associates on accident prevention techniques.
- Communicate plans to minimize accidents and oversee safety reviews to implement plans to improve safety.
- Manage facility-level training and execution of asset protection, safety functions, and claims and receiving procedures.
- Review the application of policies, procedures, compliance guidelines, and operational controls.
- Identify gaps in expectations versus training levels, determine training needs, and develop and deliver training where needed.
- Manage claims and receiving operations by ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed.
- Ensure timely processing of claims and merchandise deliveries, provide direction for claims or receiving issues, and maintain necessary documentation and reporting.
- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates.
- Follow and demonstrate the One Best Way (OBW) service model, manage and support customer service initiatives, and ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved.
- Develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies and provide process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
- Drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating P&L (Profit & Loss) statements.
- Manage and assist in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses in designated business areas to confirm they are indexed to sales.
- Monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
- Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved for business areas.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring associates.
- Assign duties, set clear expectations, provide associate recognition, communicate expectations consistently and effectively, ensure diversity and inclusion awareness, and recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.
- Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates.
- Tour stores and provide feedback, communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilize technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.
- Introduce and lead company change efforts, provide clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions, and communicate business objectives to teams effectively.
- Control the unexplained loss of merchandise and improve profitability by identifying and communicating performance goals and objectives.
- Build accountability for policies and procedures, measure adherence to loss prevention policies and procedures, review variances to inventory reports, conduct operational and pre-inventory reviews, gather data, audit results, and monitor deficiency trends.
- Identify improvement opportunities, communicate and work with managers and associates to determine corrections needed to inventory controls, influence the implementation and execution of control corrections, and teach managers and associates operational controls and processes in multiple stores.
- Demonstrate up-to-date expertise and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices.
- Support and align efforts to meet customer and business needs, build commitment for perspectives and rationales, and demonstrate energy and positivity for own work.
- Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Identify business needs, determine and carry out necessary processes and practices, monitor progress and results, recognize and capitalize on improvement opportunities, and adapt to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
- Model compliance with company policies and procedures and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities.

The hourly wage range for this position is $31.25-$38.46.
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
- Sales Volume Category (SVC) (based on facility sales volume)
Minimum Qualifications:
- For facilities that sell firearms, I acknowledge that the position for which I am applying will require successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, I acknowledge that the position for which I am applying may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
- Meets applicable state requirements to work in Asset Protection, such as, minimum age, specialized training, certification, and/or licensing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Criminal Justice, or related field
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
- Certification in an asset protection-related field (for example, Loss Prevention Qualified, Loss Prevention Certified)
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports to include the responsibility of performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing
- Investigative experience
