Job Overview

Position Title: Mechanical Project Manager / Applications Engineer

Role Summary: This position offers a significant opportunity for career advancement as a mid-level Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager within a Mechanical Contracting firm specializing in MEP projects. Ideal for candidates who possess strong leadership qualities, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, particularly in overseeing Construction and HVAC projects from inception to completion.   • Compensation range: $95,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze pre-construction documentation, oversee pre-construction activities, manage project timelines, generate RFIs, and assess product compatibility.
  • Understand the design process for mechanical contracting projects, particularly in heating and cooling systems. Familiarity with Carrier HAP and Trane Trace software is advantageous.
  • Ensure timely production and review of project deliverables, providing expertise in product selection and application.
  • Possess knowledge of equipment such as RX Refrigeration, chilled and hot water systems, energy recovery systems, geothermal systems, boilers, and high-efficiency commercial and industrial cooling systems.
  • Assist with accounting tasks and participate in client meetings as required.
  • Collaborate with vendors to source products for projects.
  • Work comfortably in an office environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in consulting.
  • Excellent communication skills and proactive approach.
  • Proficient in HVAC systems and AutoCAD software.
  • PE or EIT/FE certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Background checks and drug testing are mandatory.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including arithmetic and graph interpretation.
  • Able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Engineering Competencies:

A strong passion for precise engineering and energy efficiency, along with proficiency in various HVAC systems and innovative problem-solving abilities. Quick adaptability and eagerness to learn are essential.

Physical and Technical Skills:

Ability to operate computer systems and perform some physical tasks as required.

This Position Is Ideal For:

Individuals with experience in Mechanical Project Management, Design MEP, and Construction, holding a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or possessing 4+ years of HVAC or MEP Construction experience. ASHRAE experience in Project Management and willingness to travel occasionally are beneficial.
