Job Summary

Zayo is seeking a highly skilled Network Development Project Manager to lead the development of long haul route opportunities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and developing new route opportunities that meet stakeholder requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Route Development: Work with cross-functional teams to identify and qualify new long haul route opportunities, ensuring that route objectives are clearly defined and meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Feasibility Planning: Develop and maintain a Plan of Record solution for each project, including multiple solution scenarios and recommendations for approval.
  • Project Management: Manage large-scale network deployments, including OSP, Ethernet, and wireless networks, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and refine project cost estimates, build project milestone-level project schedules, and identify and negotiate third-party partner build and asset acquisition opportunities.
  • Communication: Provide transparent reporting and communications for projects in the development process, and engage with local teams to research existing network infrastructure and assess options for leveraging those assets in new route builds.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in wireline carrier network planning, engineering, and construction, including experience with OSP construction contract bidding, negotiation, and administration.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of OSP construction standards, fiber specifications, and optical network design principles, as well as experience with project management software and GIS-based tools.
