Aluminum Process Specialist

Position Overview:

The Novelis Manufacturing Excellence team is in search of an Aluminum Process Specialist. This role involves reporting to the Operations Leader and engaging with large-scale molten aluminum operations within a research setting. A strong commitment to safety in an industrial context is essential, alongside strict adherence to Novelis's Safety Standards. Responsibilities include working with aluminum melting systems, alloying processes, direct chill (DC) casting, and continuous casting (CC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold Novelis's safety protocols and advocate for a safety-first culture.
  • Assist in the planning, organization, execution, and documentation of operational trials.
  • Gather and analyze data from experimental activities, presenting technical findings effectively.
  • Conduct data analysis to provide recommendations for product or process improvements.
  • Engage in regular collaborative meetings with colleagues on shared projects.
  • Train on, operate, troubleshoot, and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various equipment.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently without compromising work quality.
  • Take ownership of challenges and drive them to resolution.
  • Independently resolve moderately complex issues while managing processes and procedures.
  • Deliver timely, high-quality results from routine assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in a relevant field or equivalent technical background.
  • Over 2 years of experience in the molten aluminum sector, particularly in DC casting.

Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience.

Technologist Salary Range:

  • Minimum: $67,100
  • Maximum: $110,110

Senior Technologist Salary Range:

  • Minimum: $93,000
  • Maximum: $122,000
