Job Summary

Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest is seeking a highly skilled Sepsis Coordinator Registered Nurse RN to join our team. As a Sepsis Coordinator, you will play a vital role in reviewing the sepsis screening process and communicating with nurses regarding the Sepsis screening tool, MD notification, and bundle implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews usage of Sepsis orders with MDs to increase compliance with orders in ED and Inpatient units
  • Provides education and serves as a resource to nursing staff on use of fluid resuscitation devices and care of septic patients in the ICU
  • Participates in the attainment of departmental goals which are based on the following important aspects of care; nursing staff education and competency, nursing orientation and preceptor development, professional practice development, support of professional nursing in the community, patient and family education and community wellness
  • Plans and implements a variety of educational programs based on the clinical staff's identified learning needs, competency deficiencies, and performance improvement findings
  • Evaluates educational programs through formal and informal mechanisms; shares results with management. Recommends new courses or improvements based on feedback received
  • Serves as a clinical resource to staff and students
Requirements
  • BSN required, MSN preferred
  • CPR and ACLS certifications required
  • A minimum of three years hospital clinical experience and at least one year of teaching experience in a hospital setting required
  • Proven experience in program design and facilitation preferred
