About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sepsis Coordinator RN to join our team at Henrico Doctors' Hospital Forest. As a key member of our healthcare family, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and communicate the sepsis screening process to nursing staff, ensuring compliance with orders in ED and Inpatient units.
  • Act as a resource to nursing staff on sepsis screening, documentation, and use of orders, providing education and support as needed.
  • Participate in the attainment of departmental goals, focusing on nursing staff education and competency, nursing orientation and preceptor development, professional practice development, and patient and family education.
  • Plan and implement educational programs based on clinical staff's identified learning needs, competency deficiencies, and performance improvement findings.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to staff and students, providing guidance and support in sepsis management and care.
Requirements
  • A minimum of three years hospital clinical experience and at least one year of teaching experience in a hospital setting.
  • Strong knowledge of sepsis management and care, with the ability to communicate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent education and training skills, with the ability to develop and implement educational programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address sepsis-related issues.
