Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our team at Jewish Family and Community Services of Pittsburgh. The successful candidate will provide exceptional support to our immigration legal services team, ensuring that clients receive the information and resources they need to navigate the complex immigration system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide information on our services and eligibility criteria.
  • Work closely with legal staff to obtain answers to client questions and relay information back to clients.
  • Schedule initial client appointments and assist with checklists and templates to prepare clients for their appointments.
  • Make referrals to other service providers as needed.
  • Collaborate with intake coordinators from other JFCS departments to ensure continuity of services for clients.
  • Process incoming mail and assist with outgoing mail as necessary.
  • Participate in staff development and training opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices.
  • Provide culturally sensitive and welcoming support to clients from diverse backgrounds.
Requirements
  • Bilingual in any language and English preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and communication skills required.
  • Two years' experience working with immigrants or in the legal field preferred.
  • Customer service-oriented with a pleasant demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining composure and a sense of humor.
