Position Overview

Salary: $55 - $70 Daily Rate

The role of a Residential Support Specialist involves living alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a supportive environment. The primary objective is to provide essential assistance and encouragement, enabling individuals to lead fulfilling and independent lives within their own apartments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities, including meal preparation and household maintenance.
  • Encourage and support the individual in achieving their personal goals and fostering independence.
  • Promote community inclusion and participation in various activities.
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing living environment.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check as mandated by state regulations.
  • Possess a valid email address and reliable internet access.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Complete necessary documentation on a daily basis.
  • Conduct monthly safety and fire drills.
  • Engage individuals with IDD in community-based activities.

Examples of Services Provided:

  • Offer tailored support during various daily living tasks.
  • Assist with medical appointments and medication administration as prescribed.
  • Help individuals manage finances and budgeting.
  • Provide transportation as needed to support individual goals.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual planning sessions.
  • Support individuals in developing and maintaining essential life skills.
  • Encourage involvement in family and community activities.
  • Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.

This position is structured as an independent contractor role, meaning that individuals will not be classified as employees of FRIENDS of Broomfield and will not receive traditional employment benefits.
