Job Summary

UPMC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide positive and welcoming interactions with hospital guests, patients, and families, offering guidance and direction as needed.
  • Utilize technology to disseminate patient information, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to hospital policies.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining assigned areas, adhering to established procedures and reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Transport patients, equipment, and supplies between units and designated areas, ensuring safe and timely delivery.
  • Manage supply inventory, ordering and stocking necessary items, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Support patient care by responding to call lights, rounding hourly, and interacting with patients to assess their needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including audits and tracer activities, to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; previous experience in healthcare or customer service preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, with a strong focus on patient care and safety.
  • Act 34 clearance required.
