Job Title: Director of Engineering

Nexstar Broadcasting is seeking a highly skilled Director of Engineering to join our team in Chicago. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading the technical aspects of our broadcast operation.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with technology innovation, support, and maintenance of our state-of-the-art broadcast technology installation.
  • Manage day-to-day technical work associated with the NewsNation operation.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, Operations and the WGN9 Director of Technology to ensure seamless technical operations.
  • Develop and implement project management strategies to meet tight deadlines.
  • Lead a team of engineers in a union environment, ensuring excellent technical support and maintenance.
Requirements:
  • Excellent project management skills, including managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Expert-level knowledge of current and next-generation digital television architecture, equipment, and standards.
  • Experience with Ross automation, ENPS newsroom, and BitCentral media software.
  • Strong IT skills, including TCP/IP networking concepts and equipment, storage systems, and redundant computer system concepts.
  • Ability to respond to trouble calls in a 24/7 environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and people skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience managing a team in a union environment.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD for wiring and design.
  • Experience in large systems integration/installation.
