Job Summary

The Corporate Director of Engineering will oversee all engineering functions across Great Wolf's multi-property portfolio, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance, safety, and guest satisfaction. This role will guide engineering teams across Great Wolf's 22+ properties to proactively monitor preventive maintenance and enhancement of waterpark mechanicals, maintaining air and water quality, and managing energy and water efficiency programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop, update, and implement engineering strategies aligned with the company's goals, objectives, and industry standards.
  • Operations Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
  • Project Management: Plan, coordinate, manage, and execute capital projects, renovations, and new construction initiatives, collaborating with Development, Operations Project Manager, and property management teams.
  • Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and promoting professional development and career advancement opportunities.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management: Work with Regional Directors of Finance to develop and manage engineering budgets, update annual Engineering OpEx Guidance items, and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all properties comply with health and safety regulations and industry standards, working with Risk/Safety Department to address items listed in their regular safety audits and inspections.
  • Innovation and ESG: Identify and implement innovative engineering solutions to enhance guest experiences and operational efficiency, leading ESG initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of engineering operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field desired, or 15+ years of Operational Experience in Hospitality/Water Parks.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multi-property engineering operations.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, and water park systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using engineering management software and tools.
  • Commitment to sustainability and energy conservation.
  • Ability to travel to lodges up to 50% of the time.
