Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned safety professional to lead our safety and compliance efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety management, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance. The Director of Safety and Compliance will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe working environment for our employees and a compliant operation for our company.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Safety Policies and Procedures: Create and maintain safety policies and procedures that meet or exceed regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify and assess potential safety risks and develop strategies to mitigate or eliminate them.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all company operations are in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Lead Safety Training and Awareness Programs: Develop and deliver safety training programs to ensure that all employees are aware of safety procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate Incidents and Near Misses: Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and near misses to identify root causes and develop corrective actions.
  • Develop and Implement Corrective Actions: Develop and implement corrective actions to address safety concerns and prevent future incidents.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and HR, to ensure that safety is integrated into all aspects of the business.
  • Monitor and Report Safety Metrics: Monitor and report safety metrics, including incident rates, injury frequencies, and compliance metrics.

Requirements:

  • 15+ Years of Safety Experience: Proven experience in safety management, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong Knowledge of Safety Regulations: In-depth knowledge of relevant safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and industry-specific standards.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address safety concerns.
  • BS in Safety or Related Field: Bachelor's degree in safety or a related field, such as environmental health and safety or industrial hygiene.
