Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Specialist to join our team at Central Indiana Orthopedics. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality medical services.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with clinical and administrative duties, including rooming patients, preparing exam rooms, and maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Conduct initial assessments and intake of patient information, including medical history, vital signs, and social history.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment by observing, recording, and assessing patient condition, noting reactions to drugs and treatments.
  • Update and maintain patient files, records, and electronic health records with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform selected nursing duties, including assisting with minor surgeries, procedures, and physicals, and arranging for additional testing as needed.
  • Explain and demonstrate home physical therapy exercises or rehabilitation techniques to patients.
  • Maintain and prepare supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization and ensuring clinic area is stocked with proper equipment at all times.
  • Perform selected administrative duties, including screening telephone calls, scheduling appointments, and compiling technical and statistical data for reports and records.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited program in nursing (Associate's or Bachelor's degree).
  • One to two years' professional experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain in good standing an Indiana state Licensed Practical Nurse license (LPN).
  • Must maintain current BLS certification.
Working Conditions

Working environment is in a clinical environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Work requires standing for long periods of time and excessive walking. Position requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting/assisting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

Requires normal visual acuity and hearing must be in normal range for telephone contacts and to interact directly with patients.

Regularly interacts with staff, physicians, and the public, which may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Work may be stressful at times.
