About YOU

The Culinary Operations Supervisor (COS) is accountable for the preparation, assembly, and final presentation of ingredients according to the specifications and recipes of the 49th State Brewing Company, ensuring the quality of prepared dishes through rigorous testing. The COS will employ a diverse range of culinary skills, including slicing, grinding, frying, and baking during service. You will also train and oversee line cooks, who are responsible for identifying and discarding unappealing or spoiled food items. Promoting a culture of safety in all workplace areas, including food safety, customer safety, and team member safety, is essential.

Key Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):

  • Execute a variety of advanced food preparation tasks.
  • Regularly prepare and stock the food assembly line for service, replenishing as necessary.
  • Accurately assemble food in a timely manner, as ordered, during all meal services.
  • Adhere to company health, sanitation, and food quality policies.
  • Assist with the cleaning and sanitation of kitchen and food items.

Job Requirements:

  • Culinary degree and/or over 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in computer business applications, with a working knowledge of computerized restaurant point of sales (POS) systems preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly (both verbal and written) with employees and management.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail while working in a team environment.
  • Minimum one year of experience in positions involving commercial food preparation.
  • Must be able to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for an entire 8-hour shift.
  • Must possess a valid Alaska Food Handlers card (to be obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
