CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED; 3 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related professional field.
- 2-year degree from an accredited institution in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related discipline; 1 year of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related professional area.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Managing Rooms Operations Activities
- Oversees the opening and closing of Front Desk shifts and Housekeeping, ensuring the completion of assigned shift checklists and other responsibilities.
- Analyzes critical information in room operations reports.
- Understands the functions of Recreation, Laundry, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, AYS, Front Desk, and Concierge/Guest Services.
- Operates departmental equipment as needed and reports any malfunctions.
- Ensures team members have the necessary supplies and uniforms.
- Comprehends night audit procedures and utilizes reports as required.
- Adheres to loss prevention policies and procedures.
- Communicates performance expectations to employees in line with job descriptions for each role.
- Addressees employee inquiries and concerns.
- Effectively schedules staff according to business needs and monitors employee attendance.
Contributing to Budget Management
- Supervises same-day selling strategies to optimize room revenue and property occupancy.
- Verifies room rate accuracy to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Utilizes budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports to assist in managing Room Operations.
- Participates in managing departmental controllable expenses to meet or exceed budgetary goals.
- Understands the impact of Room Operations on the overall financial objectives of the property.
Enhancing the Guest Experience
- Assists in investigating employee and guest incidents.
- Utilizes a guest information tracking system to ensure a successful repeat guest recognition program is in place.
- Sets a positive standard for guest relations.
- Engages with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service levels; effectively addresses guest issues and complaints, seeking supervisor assistance when necessary.
- Assists in reviewing comment cards and guest satisfaction metrics with team members.
