As a Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for achieving sales targets, developing account strategies, and maintaining a high level of knowledge about AFL's products and services.

You will work closely with the sales team to implement account and target market strategies, provide consultative services to customers, and negotiate customer alliance agreements and contracts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Achieving or exceeding planned sales levels for all products and services at targeted accounts and/or targeted market segments.
  • Conducting sales calls to implement account and/or target market strategies as developed in conjunction with the other Regional Sales Managers in support of AFL's business objectives.
  • Maintaining a high level of knowledge regarding AFL's products and services and their applications to the potential customers.
  • Acting in a consultative role to the customer to ensure that they can easily order, install, and add value to their internal programs with our products and services.
  • Maintaining sufficient knowledge of customer's business to recognize opportunities that will drive growth for AFL.
  • Leading and managing the local sales agency representative teams in the defined region.
  • Negotiating and managing customer alliance agreements and contracts with strategic customers.
  • Managing and driving growth with key distribution partners in the region.
  • Assisting in training and orientation of new customer sales organizations as required.
  • Establishing sources to provide information or competitive pricing, market activities, transaction usage and other information about the assigned account(s) or target markets.
  • Providing direction to the customer service representatives in support of customer needs.
  • Participating in national and regional trade shows and/or conferences in accordance with the account or target market strategy, with the objective of maintaining or improving customer relationships and prospecting for new business.
  • Managing the flow of information and communications between AFL and key account(s) and/or target markets in accordance with the account strategy, with the objective of improving customer relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field.
  • 5 plus years' of experience selling to the Electric Utility or Telecommunications markets.
  • Knowledge of the customers and distribution channels that serve the customer base.
  • Experience with managing outside sales agent representative teams is a plus.
  • Good understanding of the base technology and emerging trends in fiber as it is deployed in the specific market.
  • Engineering knowledge and strategic account selling skills to support strategic expansion in the respective region.

Working Conditions:

  • Home office environment.
  • Travel - approximately 65%.
