About the Position

The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is seeking a highly qualified individual to assist the Policy and Programs teams in various tasks related to the Oslo Freedom Forum.

This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in policy research, event planning, programming, production, and communications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with content creation, speaker research, project management, and event logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with drafting content for OFF materials, such as the program book, speaker slides, and promotional materials.
  • Vetting and conducting research on potential OFF speakers and attendees, and tracking attendee invitations.
  • Assisting with project management by organizing information, tracking deliverables, and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Identifying timely opportunities that align with the conference theme, and making recommendations for incorporating new ideas into OFF programming.
  • Sourcing relevant information and photos for OFF materials.
  • Liaising with various teams and event stakeholders.
  • Assisting members of the Policy and Programs teams with administrative tasks and copy-editing, as necessary.
  • Helping coordinate event logistics and production on-the-ground, where relevant.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize the most important ones.
  • High sense of urgency and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • A strong affinity for HRF's mission and values.
  • Experience in event planning and/or communications is useful, but not required.
  • Ability to work from the New York office is preferred.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
