Job Overview / Key Responsibilities:

The following duties and responsibilities are standard for all teaching roles within the Sierra Sands Unified School District.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and uphold the philosophy, objectives, and policies of the district and school.
  • Assess student needs and capabilities.
  • Provide suitable learning experiences.
  • Maintain accurate student records.
  • Evaluate student performance.
  • Communicate student achievements to parents and guardians.
  • Maintain a conducive classroom environment that promotes orderly behavior.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet student needs.
  • Ensure a physical environment that supports learning.
  • Adhere to district learning frameworks and established curricula.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct attendance tracking.
  • Assist in the selection and requisition of instructional materials and maintain inventory records.
  • Manage resources to prevent loss or misuse.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures.
  • Participate in school and district meetings as required.
  • Oversee non-classroom supervision when assigned.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the principal.

SUPERVISION:
Work under the direct supervision of the site administrator.

May, under the general supervision of the principal, coordinate the efforts of volunteers, aides, and other support staff.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must meet legal requirements for certificated staff in the State of California.

Requirements / Qualifications

Candidates must possess or be eligible for Preliminary Moderate/Severe or Excessive Support Needs authorization or be intern eligible.
Education Specialist-Moderate/Severe or equivalent authorization required.

Must hold a preliminary or clear teaching credential to qualify for relocation reimbursement.
