Social Studies Educator for Middle School

About the Role:
This is a full-time position that requires the ability to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that cater to the diverse needs of our students. You will be responsible for developing schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with our district's guidelines. Your primary focus will be on instructing and monitoring students, utilizing technology to support and differentiate instruction, and managing student behavior according to established guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lesson plans and instructional materials that promote active learning.
- Develop and implement assessment strategies that accurately measure student progress and development.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation.
- Use technology to support and differentiate instruction, and to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop new instructional strategies.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and communicate with parents/guardians about student progress.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
- Assign and grade classwork, homework, and assessments in a timely and fair manner.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator Certificate or meet the district's professional qualifications. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with students, parents, staff, and the community. The ideal candidate will have exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, and strong professional reputation. Additionally, you must be able to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting, and be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations.
