Child and Family Support Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Your contributions are vital in addressing challenging behaviors and fulfilling the needs of both children and their families. You will collaborate with a diverse team to create meaningful change.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Our School Aged Treatment Program (SATS) serves children and adolescents (ages 0-21) who are grappling with mental health issues that affect their everyday lives. We receive referrals from multiple sources, and our services encompass therapy, case management, and rehabilitation. The program is dedicated to empowering youth to succeed in various settings through a range of interventions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver case management and support services in home, educational, and community settings.
- Encourage and reinforce positive behaviors and skills among children and youth.
- Honor and incorporate family values into the treatment framework.
- Assist youth in developing crucial social skills for various environments.
- Provide transportation for different activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of services rendered.
- Work in conjunction with multidisciplinary teams to execute treatment strategies.
- Stay informed about community resources available for families.
- Engage in program initiatives and represent the organization positively.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Capable of managing crisis situations with composure.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to establish rapport with children, youth, and families.
- Effective team player.
- Knowledge of behavioral strategies and child welfare principles.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- AA or Bachelor's degree in human services or a related discipline OR equivalent professional experience.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
- Possession of a valid CA driver's license and automobile insurance.
- CPR/First Aid certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to drive and travel to various client locations.
- Good vision, hearing, and olfactory senses for client safety.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 20 pounds.
- Physical mobility for conducting home and office visits.
