Respiratory Care Services Supervisor

Nuvance Health seeks a skilled Respiratory Care Services Supervisor to oversee the daily technical operation of the Respiratory Care Services Department. This role will coordinate and manage the work of department staff, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage. The successful candidate will also be responsible for personnel management, including interviewing, selection, onboarding, training, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate clinical assignments and ensure adequate staffing and coverage.
- Manage personnel, including interviewing, selection, onboarding, training, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
- Monitor and improve department protocols, including smoking cessation, medication conversions, and weaning.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and training of departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
- Oversee day-to-day operations within the span of control, resolving problems as necessary.
- Manage departmental equipment and supplies, ensuring quality, appropriateness, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, including Joint Commission, CAP, and DOH.
- Optimize workflows to continually improve quality and efficiency.
- Comply with all Health Quest and affiliate policies and ensure compliance with all applicable law and regulation.
- Maintain contemporary professional knowledge and education.
- Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- A.S. Degree from an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Care.
- Three years of Respiratory Therapist experience in ICU/NICU.
- PREFER: Two years of management experience.
- PREFER: B.S. Respiratory Care.
- Maintain and model REACH values: Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Compassion, Honor.
- Ability to establish goals and drive results amongst subordinate staff.
- Ability to lead using influence, rather than possessing direct authority over others.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to take abstract, complex, and/or technical information and break it down for a variety of audiences.
Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 4pm-12:30am.
