Position Summary:
The Supervisor of Respiratory Care Services is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Respiratory Care Department, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient departmental functioning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage clinical assignments, ensuring appropriate staffing and coverage.
2. Handle personnel management tasks, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
3. Monitor and enhance departmental protocols related to patient care and safety.
4. Assist in the formulation and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
5. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain accurate documentation for departmental competencies.
6. Support the Blood Gas Laboratory operations in the absence of designated leadership.
7. Address daily operational challenges, promoting efficiency and quality in service delivery.
8. Manage departmental resources, ensuring the availability and appropriateness of equipment and supplies.
9. Collaborate with leadership to uphold quality assurance standards and regulatory compliance.
10. Strive for continuous improvement in departmental workflows and patient care outcomes.
Leadership and Communication Skills:
Demonstrate the ability to foster a collaborative environment, build trust, and effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
1. Associate's Degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
2. Minimum of three years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in critical care settings.
3. Preferred: Two years of management experience and a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Licensure:
Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License is required.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with standard hours and evening shifts.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
