Respiratory Care Services Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Care Services Supervisor to join our team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. As a key member of our Pulmonary Medicine department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily technical operation of our Respiratory Care Services Department.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and oversee the daily clinical assignments, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage.
- Manage personnel, including interviewing, selecting, onboarding, training, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
- Monitor and improve department protocols, including smoking cessation, medication conversions, and weaning.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and training of departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of departmental competency training.
- Support and oversee the Blood Gas Laboratory in the absence of the clinical manager and special procedures lead.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, resolving problems as necessary, and ensuring efficient, compliant, safe, and high-quality services.
- Manage departmental equipment and supplies, ensuring quality, appropriateness, and efficiency while remaining budget-conscious.
- Contribute to departmental QA, ensuring quality and adherence to regulatory agencies, including Joint Commission, CAP, and DOH.
- Optimize workflows to continually improve quality and efficiency.
- Comply with all Health Quest and affiliate policies and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain contemporary professional knowledge and education.
- Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
- A.S. degree from an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Care.
- Three years of Respiratory Therapist experience in ICU/NICU.
- PREFERRED: Two years of management experience.
- PREFERRED: B.S. in Respiratory Care.
- NYS Respiratory Therapist License.
