Job Summary

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the work of department staff, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate clinical assignments, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage.
  • Manage personnel, including interviewing, selecting, onboarding, training, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
  • Monitor and improve department protocols, including smoking cessation, medication conversions, and weaning.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and training of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation, and support the Blood Gas Laboratory as needed.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, resolving problems as necessary, and ensuring efficient, compliant, safe, and high-quality care.
  • Manage departmental equipment and supplies, ensuring quality, appropriateness, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Department Director and Clinical Manager to ensure quality and adherence to regulatory agencies.
  • Optimize workflows to continually improve quality and efficiency.
  • Comply with all Health Quest and affiliate policies, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain contemporary professional knowledge and education.
  • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Requirements
  • A.S. degree from an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Care.
  • Three years of Respiratory Therapist experience in ICU/NICU.
  • PREFER: Two years of management experience.
  • PREFER: B.S. Respiratory Care.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 4pm-12:30am. The department is located at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
