Department Overview: The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is one of the oldest medical schools in the nation, renowned for its commitment to training top-tier healthcare professionals and advancing medical research. The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biosciences boasts a distinguished faculty and is dedicated to groundbreaking research in various domains of health sciences.

Position Overview: The department is seeking to fill a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in one of two primary research areas:

  • Molecular Mechanisms of Biomolecules: Candidates with expertise in Cryo-electron microscopy are encouraged to apply. The department offers access to cutting-edge facilities, including a state-of-the-art Cryo-EM lab, and expects the successful candidate to develop a robust research program aligned with departmental research pillars.
  • Cellular Mechanisms Related to Human Health: Applicants with a focus on cellular signaling and its implications for health are also sought. The ideal candidate will collaborate with existing faculty on research related to pathogenesis, regenerative medicine, and other critical areas.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct innovative research and disseminate findings in biochemistry, microbiology, or immunology.
  • Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in relevant subjects to students at various academic levels.
  • Participate in departmental and university committees, contributing to the academic community.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline, along with a minimum of two years of postdoctoral research experience.
