About Business Development Role at Staples:

We're looking for a skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at Staples, Inc. As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving business growth and revenue through effective sales strategies and execution. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute strategic business plans for assigned product lines, ensuring alignment with company objectives. You will also manage all aspects of the product lifecycle, including assortment planning, vendor selection, negotiation, financial planning, inventory management, and merchandise presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  2. Manage all aspects of the product lifecycle, including assortment planning, vendor selection, negotiation, financial planning, inventory management, and merchandise presentation.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the online shopping experience, leveraging customer insights and data to optimize revenue and utilization of selling tools.
  4. Negotiate effectively with vendors to secure cooperative funding and favorable terms.
  5. Stay informed about market trends, external factors, and internal financial data to identify opportunities and potential risks.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of 3 years of experience in buying related functions, including merchandising, buying, planning, and inventory management. You should also have experience in online merchandising strategies and practices. Additionally, you should have basic knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with proficiency in Access a plus. A Bachelor's degree in business is preferred.

Estimated Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 per year
