As an IT Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by ensuring that our IT infrastructure operates with the utmost efficiency and integrity, always prioritizing the needs of our team and clients.

Position Summary

The IT Systems Administrator is tasked with overseeing and maintaining the technological framework of our distribution center. This role is vital for guaranteeing the reliability, security, and performance of all IT systems that underpin our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in systems administration, a solid grasp of logistics technology, and the capability to troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Oversight: Manage and maintain servers, workstations, network devices, and other IT infrastructure within the distribution center.
  • Network Management: Monitor network performance, configure network devices (routers, switches, firewalls), and ensure secure connectivity.
  • Technical Support: Provide assistance to staff, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and promptly resolve system outages or performance issues.
  • Software Administration: Install, configure, and update software applications and systems, including WMS and ERP systems.
  • Security Management: Implement security measures to safeguard data and systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Backup Strategies: Develop and manage backup and disaster recovery plans to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and network diagrams.
  • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors for hardware, software, and support services, managing procurement and maintenance of IT equipment.
  • Project Involvement: Assist with IT projects, including system upgrades and installations, collaborating with other departments to support technological initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated experience as a System Administrator or Network Administrator, preferably in a logistics or distribution context.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and other operating systems.
  • Familiarity with network protocols, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with WMS and ERP systems.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Understanding of IT security practices and data protection regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, able to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation tasks.
Work Environment

This position is based in a climate-controlled office within a warehouse setting. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers will be utilized.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include frequent standing, walking, stooping, and kneeling. The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and possess specific vision abilities including close vision and depth perception.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel for training may be necessary.
