We are seeking an "Engineer / Safety" professional dedicated to advancing AMACO's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with diverse teams to ensure products align with customer expectations, company objectives, and regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize creativity and technical expertise to tackle complex challenges and develop products that surpass customer requirements.
  • Transform concepts into viable, market-ready products.
  • Evaluate existing products for improvement opportunities and implement necessary updates.
  • Conduct tests and experiments to validate product performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Refine designs to enhance product performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency, employing CAD software for detailed engineering documentation.
  • Experiment with various materials and manufacturing processes to identify optimal solutions for new product specifications.
  • Provide technical specifications and guidance to suppliers to ensure high-quality component procurement.
  • Work alongside manufacturing teams to resolve design-related challenges and improve production efficiency.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, including design files and compliance records with industry standards.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to propose enhancements that improve product functionality and market competitiveness.
  • Create technical documentation to assist in the operation and troubleshooting of control and electrical systems.
  • Develop mechanical models and conduct tolerance analyses to simulate design concepts.
  • Lead cross-departmental initiatives to meet design and project objectives.
  • Propose significant process improvements and present findings to relevant teams.
  • Document solutions through various formats, including flowcharts and diagrams.
  • Assist in establishing a Quality Control program that adheres to safety guidelines and industry standards.
  • Define project scopes and objectives, ensuring stakeholder involvement and technical feasibility, while delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Conduct research, document findings, and present reports during meetings.
  • Enhance professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
  • Mentor and coach team members as necessary.
  • Oversee technical aspects of relevant projects.
  • Apply global standards, including ANSI, UL, and ISO regulations.
Required Skills:
  • Knowledge of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and development planning.
  • Experience or interest in electrical, software, or mechanical design.
  • Familiarity with Arduino or similar microcontrollers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for maintaining positive relationships with regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Project management, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and statistical analysis skills.
  • Commitment to Continuous Improvement methodologies, preferably Lean Manufacturing.
  • Dependable, responsible, and punctual work ethic.
  • Professional demeanor with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software, preferably SolidWorks and DraftSight.
Work Environment:

This position may require prolonged standing and the ability to lift heavy objects. Employees should be prepared to work in varying temperature conditions.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands outlined here represent what an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Regular tasks include talking, listening, standing, walking, and using hands for various functions. Employees may also need to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequent lifting of 50+ pounds is required, along with specific vision capabilities.

Position Type:

This is a full-time role, typically requiring 40+ hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.

Travel:

Some local travel to suppliers may be necessary.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Application, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a technical role.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • 1-3 years of project management experience preferred.
