We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team at Masco, a leading manufacturer of luxury showering products. As a key member of our New Product Development and Integration team, you will be responsible for leading large projects with full autonomy while collaborating with international teams to integrate new products into production.
Key Responsibilities- Product Design and Development: Lead the design coordination, development, and integration of new showering products that meet luxury, trade, and retail consumer needs.
- Project Execution: Execute new showering product by leading components and modules through design, first article, engineering builds, pilot runs, and PPAP.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate daily with overseas teams, including Delta engineering, vendor design, and vendor manufacturing teams.
- Market Analysis and Research: Maintain a working knowledge of the competitive patent and product space for showering products.
- Product Requirements and Specifications: Manage product and system requirements, specifications, and flow down to define requirements for modules or components.
- Technical Leadership: Lead technical team resources, design requirements development, and design risk assessment throughout project execution using DFC design standards/specs (DS), APQP methodologies, and NPD launch stage gate processes.
- System Level Product Requirements: Establish and validate system level product requirements using test plans, simulation, and prototyping techniques.
- Technical Issue Resolution: Lead technical issue resolution teams, identifying and implementing root cause outside of NPD projects.
- Scope and Tradeoffs: Scope, handle, and approve technical tradeoffs to deliver requirements for production integration from concept to launch.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with Product Marketing, Architecture, Compliance, & Subsystem teams during development of new product.
- Travel Requirements: Travel up to 10% within the United States & Internationally.
- Education: Possess a BS in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology field.
- Experience: 12+ years of product engineering experience specializing in showering products.
- Language Skills: Fluent in Mandarin, including business and engineering terminology.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding soft skills with excellent written and verbal communication capabilities, able to collaborate, interact, and influence business and technical partners and leaders at all levels of the organization.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and structured problem-solving skills along with the ability to simplify complex problems.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with rapid prototyping and manufacturing processes, including injection molding, die casting, stamping, finishing, and assembly.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead multiple concurrent assignments.
- Design for Manufacturability: Experience with design for manufacturability, cost estimation, GD&T, Systems DFMEA, PPAP, and design verification and validation.
