Corestaff Services is seeking a skilled Product Development Engineer to contribute to impactful business outcomes that drive growth. In this role, you will collaborate with dedicated cross-functional teams to implement significant product enhancements that meet cost, quality, and service objectives. This position reports to the Lead Project Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead collaborative design reviews, updates, and validation strategies with both internal teams and external partners to uphold quality benchmarks.
- Oversee modifications to existing products by guiding components and modules through design, initial builds, pilot runs, and production part approval processes.
- Manage product and system specifications to articulate requirements for models or components.
- Direct technical team resources, develop design requirements, and assess design risks throughout project execution utilizing established design standards and methodologies.
- Establish and validate system-level product requirements employing various techniques including design verification, simulation, and prototyping.
- Facilitate technical issue resolution teams, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Design, construct, and execute testing protocols, effectively communicating results and the implications of technical challenges to diverse audiences.
- Evaluate, manage, and authorize technical trade-offs to fulfill production integration requirements.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in product design, including PPAP and design verification, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience in a systems engineering role with a solid understanding of systems engineering tools and methodologies.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities, capable of collaborating and influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Proficient analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the capacity to simplify complex issues.
- Experience with engineering modeling software, particularly CAD software (preferably Creo) and FEA.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die casting, stamping, finishing, and assembly.
- Able to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability, cost estimation, GD&T, Systems DFMEA, PPAP, and design verification and validation.
