GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for upholding the highest standards of cleanliness in all carpets, hard surfaces, glass, mirrors, and elevated areas within the jurisdiction of the Public Area Department. This role also involves ensuring that all light fixtures are fully operational and relocating office furniture as necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Consistent attendance is mandatory in accordance with company policies.
  • Execute cleaning tasks in all public and back-of-house areas, including carpet shampooing, floor stripping and waxing, marble polishing, and cleaning of chandeliers, ceilings, vents, glass, and mirrors.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including the correct use of equipment and protective gear. Report any accidents or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately. Inform guests and staff of safety hazards by placing appropriate signage in relevant areas. Ensure that chemicals are dispensed correctly, labeled properly, and transported safely to maintain employee safety.
  • Ensure that all cleaning equipment is functioning correctly and maintained in a clean condition.
  • Promptly report any required repairs for equipment, carpets, tiles, wallpaper, wood columns, chandeliers, glass, mirrors, etc.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service by assisting guests with directions and available services.
  • Be available to work additional hours on short notice as requested by the supervisor to accommodate staffing emergencies, employee absences, fluctuations in business levels, special projects, etc.
  • Dispose of trash from receptacles regularly.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance as per departmental policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
(Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Must be able to comprehend written English to read caution signs, safety notices, chemicals, and instructions from supervisors. Ability to understand and adhere to all company and departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Skill in fostering and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and guests. Must uphold a high level of sanitation and safety. Knowledge of the use, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment is essential. Maintain professionalism at all times.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:
Preferred one year of experience in heavy-duty and window cleaning. Familiarity with all cleaning equipment and chemicals is advantageous. Flexibility to work various shifts and starting times is required.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work may be conducted in confined spaces with limited access. Conditions may vary in terms of noise levels, vibration, temperature, lighting, air quality, and crowding. Responsibilities may involve working around moving objects, at heights, and on slippery surfaces. Extended hours and overtime may be necessary. Knowledge and use of chemicals and electrical equipment are required. Exposure to solvents, fumes, and dust is expected. Maintain a clean and sanitary environment. Work in public areas with high noise levels, smoking, restrooms, and back-of-house areas, including offices. May also work outdoors under varying weather conditions. Interaction may occur alone, with others, or face-to-face.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
This position may require occasional crawling, lifting or carrying weights between 25 to 100 lbs., and frequent standing, walking, reaching overhead, and bending. Must possess normal correctable vision and the ability to perform simple tasks, follow instructions, meet time requirements, and memorize information. Ability to operate cleaning machinery is necessary.
