We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Inspection Services Manager to join our team at the City of Reno. As a key member of our Building Inspections Division, you will be responsible for overseeing the inspection of buildings and ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct a team of building inspectors to ensure that all inspections are conducted in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for building inspection and code enforcement.
  • Conduct regular inspections of buildings to ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
  • Investigate complaints and issues related to building code violations.
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure that building inspections are conducted in a coordinated and effective manner.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that building inspections are conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
  • Prepare and present reports to management and other stakeholders on building inspection activities and results.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as construction management or engineering.
  • Four years of experience in building inspection and code enforcement, including two years of supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various locations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Professional certifications in building inspection and code enforcement.
  • Experience with building inspection software and technology.
