Reports To: Service Manager
Position Summary: This role is centered around providing exceptional customer service and fostering long-term relationships with clients. The Lot Technician is responsible for ensuring a seamless operation within the service department while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the management of the service department to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Thoroughly wash and detail motorcycles post-service to uphold quality standards.
- Verify that all necessary documentation is completed accurately during vehicle intake.
- Welcome customers warmly at all service points.
- Assist in organizing and staging motorcycles for customers and the dealership.
- Facilitate the professional pickup and delivery of motorcycles and parts.
- Contribute to a positive team environment within the service department.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of events as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness in service bays and other dealership areas.
- Handle the loading and unloading of motorcycles and parts using appropriate equipment.
- Assist with snow removal tasks when required.
- Demonstrate initiative by prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure cleanliness in service bays.
- Monitor and manage waste disposal and cleaning supplies.
- Build trust with new customers as they engage with the service department.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to engage positively with a diverse customer base.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement and an acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to operate a motorcycle weighing up to 1360 lbs. on public roads.
- Capability to bend, kneel, and crouch for inspections.
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. without assistance.
Supervisory Role: This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: The service department operates in a campus-style layout, requiring regular movement between buildings and exposure to outdoor conditions.
Hazard Awareness: The work environment includes potential hazards such as slip and fall risks, loud noises, and exposure to chemicals commonly found in automotive service settings.
