Position Title: Building Automation Controls Technician III

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehend the design and operational intent of mechanical systems and equipment, including chillers, boilers, custom air handling units, primary/secondary pumping systems, variable flow chilled water plants, clean room applications, demand response, and energy solutions.
  • Evaluate systems and formulate the scope of work necessary for controls implementation.
  • Utilize computer workstations and on-site assessments to monitor, identify, and troubleshoot potential issues.
  • Collaborate with installation and maintenance teams to carry out installations, repairs, or modifications of controlled systems and equipment.
  • Deliver technical presentations on building automation, control systems, and emerging technologies.
  • Diagnose defective or non-operational components in both new and existing systems using testing equipment and programming expertise.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of direct experience in automation with building control systems is required; programming experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with at least three HVAC control systems is preferred.
  • Ability to engage with customers at supervisory and management levels.
  • Required skills include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and computer programming.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in control system architecture design, programming, or maintenance is desirable.
  • Proficient computer skills and understanding of controls networking are necessary.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
