The Healthcare Customer Service Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the patient check-in process, ensuring the accuracy of personal and insurance information, and providing exceptional service through a multi-line phone system. This position also involves maintaining medical records and processing co-pays and cash transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform opening and closing duties for the clinic
- Welcome patients, check them in for appointments, and verify insurance details
- Scan documents into the electronic health record system
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the waiting area and reception desk
- Monitor schedules for added, canceled, and no-show appointments
- Schedule follow-up appointments as necessary
- Respond to tasks within the electronic health record system
- Order and manage clinic office supplies
- Sell and track cosmetic products
- Distribute incoming mail
- Prepare for the next day's scheduled appointments
Qualifications:
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- 1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office or similar role is preferred
- Proficient in basic computer operations
- Ability to quickly learn new software applications
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Competence in operating standard office equipment
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute is preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work both independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to accept constructive feedback and direction from supervisors
- Professional appearance and demeanor at all times
- Friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, with a compassionate approach to patient interactions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
