Summary:
The Healthcare Customer Service Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the patient check-in process, ensuring the accuracy of personal and insurance information, and providing exceptional service through a multi-line phone system. This position also involves maintaining medical records and processing co-pays and cash transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform opening and closing duties for the clinic
  • Welcome patients, check them in for appointments, and verify insurance details
  • Scan documents into the electronic health record system
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the waiting area and reception desk
  • Monitor schedules for added, canceled, and no-show appointments
  • Schedule follow-up appointments as necessary
  • Respond to tasks within the electronic health record system
  • Order and manage clinic office supplies
  • Sell and track cosmetic products
  • Distribute incoming mail
  • Prepare for the next day's scheduled appointments

Qualifications:
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office or similar role is preferred
  • Proficient in basic computer operations
  • Ability to quickly learn new software applications
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
  • Competence in operating standard office equipment
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work both independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to accept constructive feedback and direction from supervisors
  • Professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, with a compassionate approach to patient interactions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
