Job Summary

As a Healthcare Support Specialist at Health First, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience. This position requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care, working collaboratively with the healthcare team, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver basic care to patients as directed in a clean and safe environment, completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Demonstrate effective communication with other members of the healthcare team and promote effective team functioning.
Maintain a clean and safe environment, using and caring for equipment and supplies economically.
Collect, record, and report accurate patient information.
Demonstrate dependability, reliability, and flexibility.
Competently perform routine procedures and assist other associates to maintain productivity.
Provide service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural, and individual differences.

Requirements

Currently holds a Florida certificate as a Nursing Assistant, or has completed a Nursing Assistant course and is scheduled to take the Florida State exam, and will obtain certification within four months (120 days) from date of hire, or Currently holds a Nursing Assistant license in another U.S. state and is seeking Florida licensure and will obtain Certification within four months (120 days) of hire.
American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider upon hire and maintain certification.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Must meet unit-specific care requirements.
Must be able to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language. Proficient in computer software applications. Ability to work in often stressful environment with patients/families at various ages and levels of understanding. Ability to concentrate on multiple priority activities. Ability to respond appropriately in life-threatening situations. Ability to think critically to solve problems or escalate for assistance. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
