Position Summary

The Preschool Educator will be responsible for the care and education of children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of energy, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to adapt to evolving educational practices while delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the Program Director, develop and execute a comprehensive educational program for young children.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow educators in a multi-age classroom setting.
  • Be prepared to assist with various age groups as needed.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized classroom environment, adhering to the principles of The Outdoor Classroom Project and Reggio Emilia-inspired learning.
  • Set up and modify classroom areas, including literacy, science, art, and dramatic play, on a bi-monthly basis.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Observe and assess children's developmental progress and well-being.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to discuss children's growth and suggest developmental strategies.
  • Utilize various computer applications for documentation and communication purposes.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 12 units in Child Development or Early Childhood Studies.
  • At least 3 units in Infant/Toddler Care.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, including Health and Safety Training.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a licensed early childhood education setting.
  • Experience with Outdoor Classroom methodologies is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and via technology.
  • Manual dexterity to operate computers and other equipment.
  • Visual acuity to read various materials.
  • Capability to remain seated or standing for extended periods.
  • Physical strength to lift up to 50 pounds.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $19.82 to $24.00.
