About the Role

Mansfield Oil is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our commercial and trading group, you will play a critical role in analyzing natural gas, crude oil, and natural gas liquids economics to support the growth of our existing and future portfolio of production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of the competitive landscape of midstream options for natural gas, crude oil, and natural gas liquids from the wellhead through the midstream value chain.
  • Economic Evaluation: Develop detailed economic evaluations of various proposals and contracts collected through the due diligence and project planning phase.
  • Project Management: Own the project management process from draft contracts through facility construction completion to ensure midstream facilities are completed ahead of drilling and completion programs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with contract administration, scheduling, trading, and operational accounting teams to ensure consistent and correct processing of new production.
  • Market Knowledge: Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the North American natural gas, crude oil, and NGL pipeline infrastructure.
  • Data Management: Manage and maintain various data for distribution to clients and for use in multiple market reports.
  • Resource Management: Manage third-party resources, proposals, contracts, timelines, and budgets.
  • Research: Research utility tariffs, government incentives, and environmental regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed and organized files, documents, and database management.
  • Communication: Document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings, tracking deliverables.
  • Presentation: Compile and prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings, RFPs, and approvals.
  • Financial Analysis: Run financial models and help evaluate project economics.
  • Competitive Analysis: Research competitors and conduct competitive analysis.
  • Project Coordination: Manage multiple projects simultaneously (in various stages of implementation); work independently to drive progress and manage implementation to achieve measurable results.
  • Due Diligence: Responsible for the accuracy and quality of the due diligence data gathered while analyzing potential opportunities; use relative value and absolute valuation methodologies to evaluate the economics of a transaction along with the potential tradeoffs.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: One or more years of relevant experience related to North America energy markets.
  • Skills: Advanced MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills, including use and creation of pivot tables. Experience using Google Earth Pro and ARC GIS a plus.

  • Risk Assessment: Ability to quantify downside risks and upside opportunities in order to assess the risk/reward of a deal and the overall impact to company value.
Work Environment
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel regionally to attend client meetings and industry conferences on an as-needed basis.
