Job Summary

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking an experienced Administrative Support Specialist to join our team. This role will provide administrative support to the College of Computing and Informatics, ensuring the smooth operation of college-wide programs and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute class schedules and academic processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Coordinate the hiring of part-time faculty, instructors of record, teaching assistants, and instructional assistants, including training, evaluation, and approval of student time sheets.
  • Handle travel requests and assist with procurement as needed, utilizing a mix of skills, initiative, and sound judgment to work with program directors, staff, and students.
  • Arrange special events and programs, and assist with other assignments as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school and one year of related office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through four years of specialized office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks when faced with a heavy workload.
  • Strong attention to detail and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three years of office/clerical experience.
  • Experience with employee and class schedule functions in Banner.
  • Knowledge of 49erMart, P-card, NinerWorks.

Work Environment

This role will work in a fast-paced academic environment, requiring strong organizational and communication skills. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
