Position: ServiceNow SACM Analyst

Location: Pleasanton, CA/ Plano, TX (onsite need local candidates)

Duration: Long term

Visa: Independent candidates preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operational integrity of SACM Configuration processes.
  • Conduct analysis, research, troubleshooting, and data enrichment related to CMDB governance.
  • Ensure SACM Configuration Management aligns with established policies and procedures.
  • Lead root cause analysis initiatives to enhance data accuracy.
  • Manage relationships with data owners and consumers regarding SACM Configuration.
  • Identify and resolve process or data issues, ensuring completeness of Configuration Items (CIs).
  • Enhance ITSM CSDM (Common Services Data Model) practices and hierarchies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve integration interfaces with applications utilizing or providing CMDB data.
  • Foster alignment with SACM process stakeholders and manage related data inputs.
  • Act as a steward for SACM Configuration data and processes, promoting training and adherence among data owners and consumers.
  • Drive governance reporting on CMDB statistics, processes, and trends, delivering reports and dashboards to promote compliance.
  • Schedule and conduct CMDB data audits and enrichment initiatives.
  • Implement and enhance data governance best practices to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
  • Support the integration of new Applications or Business Services into the CMDB.
  • Assist with data certification audits and maintain the overall health of the Data Certification program.
  • Manage SACM Configuration Service Catalog items, their content offerings, and associated workflows.
  • Collaborate with owners of other Service Catalog items that interact with CMDB data to ensure governance of Configuration Management processes.
  • Maintain and enhance a custom in-house consumer-facing CMDB application, including process engineering and design recommendations.
  • Define and uphold recurring test cases to support platform health and upgrades.

Qualifications

  • Experience in supporting Hardware Asset Management (HAM).
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology or business-related field or 3+ years of SACM experience in Configuration Management and/or Asset Management.
  • Understanding of ServiceNow and the interaction between CMDB, AMDB, and Discovery.
  • Familiarity with ITIL IT Service Management processes.
  • 3+ years of experience in a process-driven organization, preferably ITIL-aligned.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • General knowledge of the ServiceNow Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE).
  • Familiarity with DevOps and Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of KPIs and methodologies for problem identification and trend tracking.
  • Experience managing large data repositories, especially in multi-source environments.
  • Proven track record in supporting SACM process adherence within complex IT organizations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT processes and service management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management abilities.
  • Able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL V4 certification.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Multi-Source CMDB/CMDB 360.
  • Experience with various Cloud Solutions (Azure, Google, Oracle, IBM, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the Common Service Data Model.
  • Understanding of application architecture and service delivery modeling.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology or business-related field or 3+ years of Configuration Management experience managing a large CMDB environment.
