Cibola General Hospital seeks a highly skilled and experienced Chief Executive Officer to provide administrative oversight to all business, administrative, and executive functions of the hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing short and long-range administrative and organizational plans, as well as overseeing various department heads and assisting the governing board in negotiation of professional service contracts.
Key Responsibilities- Administrative Leadership: Develop and implement administrative plans to define responsibilities and business activities consistent with hospital goals and objectives.
- Financial Management: Develop an annual administrative plan and financial plan for the hospital, subject to the authority and control of the hospital's governing board.
- Department Oversight: Oversee various department heads and ensure effective management of hospital operations.
- Contract Negotiation: Assist the governing board and hospital's legal counsel in negotiation of professional service contracts.
- Employee Management: Approve performance appraisals and wage modifications, review and resolve employee grievances, and make suggestions as appropriate.
- Physician Management: Maintain administrative responsibility for physicians both inside and outside the hospital, subject to the ultimate responsibility and control of the governing board.
- Liaison Role: Act as a liaison among the hospital's governing board, advisory boards, medical staff, and various hospital departments.
- Community Engagement: Participate in hospital associations and healthcare professional organizations to stay informed about public policy, economic developments, and public opinions.
- Financial Reporting: Direct the conduct of the CFO's office and related financial operations to ensure implementation of the hospital's fiscal business plan.
- Accreditation: Oversee the efforts of hospital personnel to maintain accreditation standards of the Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid, and similar organizations.
- Quality Standards: Coordinate the efforts of the hospital's governing board, advisory boards, medical staff, and hospital personnel to maintain hospital quality standards through loss control programs.
- Compliance: Responsible for reporting Key Events to the Compliance Hotline.
- Operational Review: Participate in monthly operating review meetings and engage with Ovation Healthcare for consultative services.
- Education and Experience: BS/BA preferred in a related field or relevant experience required; Masters preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; in-depth knowledge of hospital administration and the healthcare field; refined managerial skills; effective written, verbal, and electronic communication skills; ability to collaborate with colleagues to provide quality healthcare.
Conditions typically associated with an office environment. While performing the essential duties and responsibilities, the employee is required to talk and hear. May be frequently required to sit, stand, or walk. Moderate to prolonged reading, typing, and computer work. Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity that may include lifting up to 50 pounds. Subject to exposure to all environmental hazards associated with healthcare and office work.
