Your Role:

As a Culinary Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing food preparation, service, and distribution to ensure smooth and effective operations. You will lead all food service activities to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and organizational standards, implementing enhancements to consistently meet staffing, budget, and operational goals. Additionally, you will ensure food safety and cleanliness in compliance with local health department standards, ensuring that all residents/patients receive nutritious meals and that staff are adequately provided for during their shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure food services adhere to established guidelines while overseeing food quality assurance and controls in production, purchasing, and managing all food, supplies, and chemicals within budgetary constraints, while developing and monitoring patient menus, including special dietary needs.
  • Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate all food service personnel, prepare staff schedules, assign job responsibilities, and cross-train to meet daily production requirements, while overseeing all dietary and food staff training sessions.
  • Maintain inventory records according to corporate guidelines, including weekly and monthly food/supply inventories and documentation necessary for departmental operations, while collaborating with the Infection Control Consultant to ensure compliance with health standards.
  • Compile monthly surveys and reports, tracking results to implement improvements based on findings.
  • Engage with Health Department Inspectors, complete and submit corrective actions for inspections, and follow up as necessary to ensure compliance within the dietary department.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. A Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of four (4) years of supervisory experience in food service production within a hospital, corrections, military, commercial, or institutional setting.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Certified Dietary Manager registration is required. Must possess and maintain a sanitation and food handlers certificate (Serv Safe Certification).
