Company Overview: 00100 LEIDOS, INC. is seeking qualified behavioral health professionals to join our Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) team, focusing on Child and Youth Behavioral support.

Position Summary: This role is designed to provide essential non-medical support to military families, particularly in educational settings. As a Child and Youth Behavioral Military and Family Life Counselor (CYB-MFLC), you will play a critical role in assisting military children and their families navigate the unique challenges associated with military life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with youth and teens in school environments populated by military families.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff and parents, while modeling effective behavior management techniques.
  • Conduct presentations aimed at enhancing social skills and emotional learning crucial for youth development.
  • Foster creativity and positivity through approved resources.
  • Build strong relationships with families by participating in community and installation events.
  • Assist families with transitions related to new schools and homes.
  • Participate in ongoing training and contract activities as required.
  • Communicate trends and issues observed at assigned locations to leadership.

Additional Duties May Include:

  • Responding to urgent situations on military installations.
  • Traveling across various physical environments, including outdoor settings.
  • Adhering to site-specific requirements for work on military properties.

Work Environment: Duties will be performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, with a significant portion of work occurring in schools managed by the Department of Defense.

Licensure Portability: Under the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), licensed counselors can provide services across various locations in the U.S., regardless of their state of licensure.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master's degree or higher in a relevant behavioral health field.
  • A valid independent license in mental health from any U.S. state or territory.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to pass background checks and security clearances.
